Taste of Japan in Dusseldorf Germany

I went to Dusseldorf for the 6th time and never would I have imagined that there is a big Japanese community in Dusseldorf. For me, Japanese food is much more than just a sushi or sashimi. I haven’t been to Japan myself but as a foodie, I know my Japanese food. Here in the Netherlands Dutch people have brainwashed that sushi is the only Japanese food you can get here.

No doubt sushi is a big part of Japanese cuisine, but the cuisine has so much more to offer. And you don’t have to go to Japan for that. Dusseldorf will surprise you with a large number of Japanese residents and varieties of Japanese food.

My boyfriend and I went for a little weekend trip and all we did is eat and eat and eat. And I would also like to share with all of you all the delicious food we ate and all the amazing restaurant we went to.

For this weekend trip we opted to stay in a Hotel as I am already an Airbnb host myself, we stayed in Leonardo Dusseldorf City Center  Book via www.booking.com and use my code to get €15 discount Share the love here

We arrived in Dusseldorf around 1900, checked in really late and they have given us a room with a balcony / view, the room is clean and comfortable big room. Friendly staff. Very close to the train station to reach any points in Dusseldorf.

To start the night, we walked towards the Japanese area which they call the Little Tokyo I inserted here a little map so it can guide you where is the area.

So for our first dinner of the night, we went to Kushi Tei of Tokyo here

This is an authentic Japanese restaurant with the most delicious Japanese grill, we were very lucky as we arrived around 10 pm and managed to get a seat (be warn reservation is a must)

Their menu is very extensive so I advice to go with an empty stomach…

Day 2: Instead of having breakfast at the hotel we went to Bakery Taka here The buns are freshly baked every day. The earlier you come, the more choices you will have. They have all kinds of sweet and savory Japanese buns.

After our heavy bread breakfast,

to be continued….
